My Grandmother's Quilt - Chelsea A Blackburn

Tiny tinted honeycombs
(the color of faded book covers)
that took two years to make,
she probably thought
of hospital bills, gardening,
and what she'd cook for dinner.
I massage every loose and breaking inch
like the hysterical twitch of her hands
and wonder if growing old
is like binding and unraveling.
