Ineffable Madness - Josh Bensen

Cascading directionless in empty space
Alone
Audible wail with a nautical pace
Moan
Ancient designs known to no explorer
Doom
Echoing pit of arcane horror
Womb
Writhing mass of protuberant slime
Exhume
Chronometer of life, vacant of time
Fate
Insanity drives me back to the sea
Irate
Stumbling on broken geometry
Mutate
A mountain stumbled and then it grew
Florid
Digested by the cephalic mound, C’thulhu
Horrid

Josh Bensen is a sophomore in Biomedical Engineering. On the side he writes poetry, draws pictures, listens to music and all that artistic jazz his breed isn’t known to do. Don’t get him wrong, he's great at math but that doesn’t stop him from trying to perfectly graph his jawline with a quartic equation. He likes this piece because it led him to create other poems in the same structure with the asymmetric rhyming in the middle.
